98/05 Butcher Bayonet

Dated 1915. First pattern S98/05 Butcher Bayonets are distinguished by having a high vestigial muzzle ring (or 'ears’) to the crossguard and no flashguard to the handle. Bayonets such as this are quite scarce as this is the last year they were produced and they were manufactured for approximately half of that before being modified. Unfortunately no scabbard to accompany this one.
