. Maker marked L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG-BERLIN.. instituted on May 1, 1930 as civilian equestrian performance awards that remained in use throughout the Third Reich. They were awarded in three classes: Class III - Bronze, Class II - Silver and Class I - Gold. The driver's badge tested carriage driving skills. They were worn pinned on the left breast of civilian or uniform jackets. They were among the few pre-1933 awards that kept their original form unchanged until 1945
