Early Slant Heer Officer's Dagger by Holler……This is an introductory army dagger which was produced early on during the inception of these edged weapon in 1935. The handle while showing some mild surface wear and minor age cracks, it still remains structurally sound overall.Showing of course is the sharp downward angle of the handle recesses which has now become known as the slant grip. Both the pommel as well as the eagle crossguard are heavy silver over brass, pointing to the early vintage of this dagger.
The scabbard has some hits and dings as shown, and is made from brass which has taken on really attractive golden tone. Both scabbard bands are in place and hold the hanger rings properly. The throat is secure by 2 side mounted screws. The blade remains straight, full length, no tipping, pitting, buffing, or cutting-edge chips.
Has a nice clear yet dark defined thermometer trademark logo as shown .Not a mint dagger but pretty decent slant dagger for 95 years old
