German Waffen-SS M43 Cap Trapezoid (Dachau-Pattern)

 German Waffen-SS M43 Cap Trapezoid (Dachau-Pattern)
Late-war one-piece cap insignia featuring the SS eagle over the Totenkopf (skull).
This is a textbook "Dachau clothing depot" variant, featuring the distinct "pirate" skull design and loose-tension white bobbin thread backing on the reverse side. Unissued, uncut condition. Boxes of these things were discovered by US troops when liberating the Dachau Camp & they literally grabbed handfuls of them to bring home as souvenirs.Often seen on E medals website where this piece was purchased among a insignia grouping.
